APW - Waltham, Crescent St, Model 1883, 15J, 18S, heavy 14K multicolor gold HC recase with beautiful engraving detail, diamond inset to rear, multicolor floral detail to front and rear, gold front shield with initials, scalloped band, gold cuvette with 1891 presentation engraving, white enamel DS dial, fancy gilt Louis XV style hands, SW-LS, balance wheel appears likely to be non-magnetic alloy though hairspring is typical blue colored, nickel damascene, s#4258236. Gross weight of assembled watch 99.8 dwt (155.3 g). A very beautiful case with attractive multicolor detail and a substantial in hand presence.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, some typical mild fine to micro-fine scratches, case screws with some oxide; dial with scattered hls, fine scratch within seconds-register; nearly mint hands, seconds-hand is a different gilt tone; case shows very little wear, some fine scratches to multicolor detail, prominent depression to center of cuvette for clearance of culet of rear lid diamond, subtle mild soft dent to lower left perimeter of rear, excellent engraving detail; tight bow, crown shows light wear; good glass crystal.
